THE KARLSRUHE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is one of the leading research and educational institution with a world-class competence, covering a complete range of fundamental research to close-to-industry, applied research, and from small research partnerships to long-term large-scale research projects. Amid the various research areas, the research centre on securing energy supply focuses on the development a complete value chain of the future energy mix. Same as the European Union, KIT focuses in the areas of high societal needs by integrating the three sides of the knowledge triangle; Research, Education, and Innovation.

KIT oversees the Helmholtz Institute of Ulm (HIU), a centre of excellence on fundamental and applied materials research for the next generation electrochemical energy storage technologies. HIU mainly focuses on 5 main components of the electrochemical energy storage, namely in electrochemistry, materials science, theory and modelling of (electro) chemical processes, system considerations and analytical tools.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 814464
